D&D Traffic Management invests in newly designed Traffic Control vehicles to cater for increased demand for traffic management services.

This week, D&D Traffic Management took delivery of 11 additional vehicles adding to its extensive fleet. The new vehicles included one Lite TMA, six Utes and four drop-deck trucks.

The Lite TMA is an impact protection vehicle that will be used to add an extra level of protection for workers on roads with a speed limit of up to 70km/hour. With a light-weight aluminium crash cushion, and galvanised steel support structure, the Lite TMA is about half the size of regular TMA’s and is ideal for use on metropolitan roads. The new Lite TMA will supplement the existing fleet of 13 TMA’s already in operation.

Specialised motorway vehicles provide enhanced safety to motorway traffic management. The introduction of these newly designed drop-deck trucks for high speed roads will allow traffic controllers to set-up and take down sites safely, and more rapidly – that is, reducing set up and pack down times. The vehicles feature drop wells, safety harnesses, arrow boards and variable message boards. They also have a larger equipment capacity to ensure safe storage all the cones and signage required for larger jobs.

Tynan Diaz, Business Manager at D&D Traffic Management said “The new vehicles complement our current fleet and enhances our ability to safely conduct traffic management on high speed roads. With a vast array of our clients needing highway traffic control, we are able to deliver rapid set-up to large highway work zones in the safest possible manner. The new vehicles will be deployed to worksites this week.”
