SafeWork NSW crowns D&D Traffic Management as WINNERS of the 2017 NSW SafeWork Awards!

Safe Work awardWe are proud to announce that D&D Traffic Management has WON the 2017 SAFEWORK NSW Award in the category of BEST SOLUTION FOR AN IDENTIFIED WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAEFTY ISSUE (Large Business) for the use of PORTABOOM® for traffic control operations.

SafeWork NSW commends D&D Traffic Management for developing an innovation that has improved the safety of Traffic Management in Australia. This award acknowledges the PORTABOOM® system of work as best practice for a range of traffic control operations.

Robert Cazzolli, Managing Director of D&D Group said, "In today's age of super technology, artificial intelligence and driverless vehicles, it is incredible that standard Traffic Control guidelines have been for a person to stand int he middle of the road with a "STOP/SLOW" bat."

"After one of our own people nearly became a Road Worksite statistic, we made it our mission remove Traffic Controllers from the road and out of the direct line of live traffic. After years of trials, the PORTABOOM® system of work has now been proven to change the behaviour of Traffic Management, and we are proud that the civil & construction industry has accepted it as best practice. Being awarded as winners by SafeWork NSW is an incredible acknowledgement and endorsement by the State's peak safety body. A big thank you to the Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) for initially partnering with us to trial PORTABOOM® in NSW and to the Australian Roads Research Board (ARRB) and all other State Road Authorities in Australia who have now approved PORTABOOM® for use on all Australian roads."

"The biggest thank you must go to our dedicated team of Traffic Controllers who made this solutions possible - they are the real winners. Also to all Traffic Controllers around the country who now benefit by working under significantly safer conditions in a very unpredictable, hazardous environment, and their families who have greater peace of mind knowing that their loved ones will come home after their shift."
